Spring Quarter Natural Dye Club

70.00

Each order contains 2 skeins of naturally dyed yarn.

A limited quantity, quarterly club, featuring a Cormo and Organic Cotton blend yarn in fingering weight, naturally dyed with plants foraged each season from our ranch in Idaho and dyed in the studio, a converted milking parlor.

We take the upmost care when dyeing the yarn, using alum, tannins, iron and kettle dyeing with many different types of plants, flowers, trees, shrubs, lichen, fungi, berries, etc.

The process of natural dyeing is always a bit of an experiment, as in you never truly know what exact color or exact plants you'll find available. Colors change with seasons and one plant may produce a different color in Summer than it might in the Winter. This is one of the exciting discoveries about natural dyeing. Because of this, each quarter's color will be a bit of a surprise. We will post updates via Instagram sharing the foraging and dyeing process, and the lovely color that manifests.

Each order contains 2 skeins of naturally dyed yarn.

Fingering weight yarn:

460 yards of 2 ply fingering weight yarn, Cormo and Organic Cotton blend, naturally dyed. (per skein)

Recommended needle size, US 1 - 3 (2.25 - 3.25mm)

***Photos are of several types of yarn that's been naturally dyed.

This quarter's Cormo wool comes from a small farm in Vermont, which is then blended with organic cotton grown in Texas and then milled in Vermont. The wool and cotton are processed without the use of harsh chemicals.
